The 1929 Patchogue High School Varsity Football team carved out a legacy of grit, defensive opportunism and resilience, culminating in a dominant Thanksgiving Day performance.

The season began with a 19-0 victory over Amityville, featuring Philip Weissman touchdowns on a 70-yard touchdown run and a 20-yard interception return. After wins over Huntington, Winnwood (Lake Grove), East Hampton and Sayville, the Raiders suffered their only setback of the year—a tough 32-6 loss to Sag Harbor in the Suffolk County Championship game.

But one game still remained, the annual Thanksgiving Day clash with Bay Shore. The 27-0 victory, featuring three touchdowns by Adam Leskowicz, enabled Patchogue to claim the championship of Western Suffolk.
